How you’ll make an impact:
We are seeking an experienced internal communications team member who is passionate about developing and delivering messages that educate, inspire, and engage employees.
The Senior Manager, Internal Communications will utilize multiple communication channels to improve employee awareness of company initiatives, further promote our corporate culture, and enhance the employee experience. The individual will work with senior leaders across the business to create communications that educate the workforce, celebrate employee and company achievements, and showcase the various facets of life at SiriusXM.
This role requires a strategic thought leader who brings people together, is a captivating storyteller, and consistently demonstrates a strong attention to detail. Additionally, this individual will need to be versatile, hard-working, and highly organized to successfully support a wide breadth of communications across the company.
What you’ll do:
- Create and execute internal communications strategies to support a variety of initiatives such as employee programs, product launches, and critical response/social impact efforts, among others.
- Write, edit, review, and distribute internal communications (e.g., newsletters, organizational announcements, business and program updates, presentations, etc.).
- Serve as a main point of contact for internal stakeholders on communications planning and messaging, and provide strategic guidance.
- Drive the company’s intranet strategy, and regularly maintain the site, to inform the workforce with real-time business news and enhance employee engagement.
- Develop innovative communications approaches and utilize a variety of channels to reach employees (emails, intranet, chat tools, videos, digital screens, presentations, conferences, etc.).
- Find fresh ways to keep our love of content and entertainment front-and-center for our employees with fun, crisp, and engaging communications.
- Develop a data-driven approach to internal communications by creating dashboards that track employee engagement, sentiment, and channel usage to inform and improve future activity.
- Stay abreast of the latest internal communications trends and feedback tools, and introduce new opportunities to reach employees.
- Manage and govern best practices around the ongoing use of internal communications tools.
- Review and further develop internal communications processes and templates.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of messages across all internal communications channels.
- Support leadership in preparing and delivering key communications and/or events.
- Partner with the Corporate Communications team to ensure internal communications align with external messaging, when appropriate.
- Support our company-wide All Hands meetings by working closely with leadership to develop the agenda, prepare materials, and coordinate logistics.
- Collaborate on company surveys by analyzing data and preparing executive briefs.
- Work collaboratively with others on the People + Culture team to spearhead organizational culture and change management initiatives.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field, or equivalent, relevant experience.
- 8+ years of experience in internal communications using a variety of communication channels to reach employees.
- Excellent writer with a highly strategic approach to messaging.
- Experience working with senior leaders and the ability to exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive topics.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter who will take the initiative to lead cross-functional projects and move them forward in a timely manner.
- Capable of managing a high volume of work while meeting tight deadlines.
- Passionate about providing an exceptional experience for employees.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to empathize with employees and craft messages which will achieve the desired outcome.
- Solid relationship building and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with staff at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and be extremely organized in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.
- Commitment to “internal client” and customer service principles.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms).
- Proficient in working with intranet platforms, e.g. ServiceNow
- Basic understanding of collaboration tools, e.g. Slack.
- Strong experience with content management systems and email delivery tools (SendGrid, Marketo, MailChimp, etc.)
- Familiarity with program management tools, e.g. Monday.com.
- Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
