Position Overview

Reporting to the coalition director, the Senior Policy Manager, in cooperation with key partners of the Coalition for Fisheries Transparency (CFT), will design and carry out advocacy strategies in key countries and regions. The Senior Policy Manager will provide expert policy guidance to key stakeholders and coordinate campaigns with CFT’s members to maximize their impact.

Qualifications

Ideally, you bring deep knowledge of international fisheries governance and policy. Competitive candidates will have real-world experience working in advocacy, campaign design, and stakeholder engagement, and have strong analytical, project management, and partnership-building skills.

About the Coalition and Oceana

The coalition is co-chaired by Oceana, Environmental Justice Foundation, and Global Fishing Watch. The Senior Policy Manager will be based at Oceana.

Oceana campaigns to protect our oceans, reduce the impacts of climate change, feed a growing global population, and support the livelihoods of fishers, their families, and their communities. Founded in 2001, Oceana is the world’s largest nonprofit organization focused solely on restoring the resilience and abundance of the ocean.

Position Details

Employment Type: Full-time, exempt

Duration: Two-year position with the possibility of extension based on additional funding

Salary Range: $95,000 to $110,000 annually

Work Schedule

Oceana’s U.S. offices operate on a hybrid schedule. Staff are required to work from their assigned office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. With agreement between the employee and their supervisor, the employee may work remotely on Monday and Friday.
