Job Description

The College of Engineering is searching for a motivated Senior Strategic Communications Consultant to join its marketing and communications team. The position contributes to the success of the College of Engineering as an integral part of the communications team that promotes the College’s highest priorities.

The qualified candidate should enjoy working collaboratively with a broad and diverse constituency within the College and at the university in a team-oriented environment.

This full-time, benefit-eligible position is responsible for management of marketing and communications projects assigned by the director of marketing and communications. Additionally, this position manages various communications tools for the college, including social media, digital communications for external audiences, video projects graphic design and more, and measures the effectiveness of these efforts using industry standard analytics programs

Successful candidates will have knowledge of current marketing trends and communication strategies, proven customer service experience, attention to detail, and creativity in problem solving.

Primary responsibilities:
•Be aware of and use best practices and modern marketing concepts in assigned projects.
•Serve as manager for College of Engineering marketing and communications projects.
•Develop a strong social media strategy and implement the voice of the College’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube). Write, schedule and execute social media posts, monitor social media trends and track analytics.
• Content generation in a variety of lengths and styles and for a variety of outlets, including feature stories, website text, news releases and event scripts, and editing of the same.
•Implement and assess effectiveness of key messaging strategies across all platforms including web, social media, internal and external e-communications, etc.
• With the college’s enrollment management team, identify emerging technologies and trends in student recruitment and retention. Apply technologies and trends to the college’s marketing and communications efforts for prospective and current students.
•Oversee content development, coordination and measurement of various tactics.
•Understand the goals of the College of Engineering and its communications office. Work to promote and meet those goals.

 

Salary

Salary Range: $53,600 to $72,400 annually

GGS Grade: 11

Shift

Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

possibility for after hours and weekends depending on the need to help cover for events

Preferred Qualifications

Essential Technical Skills:

Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills

Two or more years’ experience social media content development and management, including measurement

Excellent project and time management skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office
