Position Overview
The Large Urology Group Practice Association (LUGPA) is seeking a proactive and
detail-oriented State Advocacy Coordinator to support our growing portfolio of state-
level policy initiatives. This mid-level role is ideal for a motivated advocate who excels at
legislative analysis, stakeholder engagement, and translating complex policy issues into
clear, compelling advocacy materials. The Coordinator will play a key role in advancing
LUGPA’s mission to promote independent urology practices and ensure patient access
to high-quality, cost-effective care.

Key Responsibilities
 State Policy Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis of state-level
healthcare legislation, regulations, and emerging policy trends affecting urology
practices and patient access.
 Legislative Engagement: Assist in coordinating outreach to state legislators,
regulators, and partner organizations; support coalition-building efforts to
advance LUGPA’s policy priorities.
 Advocacy Communications: Draft action alerts, talking points, policy
summaries, and other advocacy materials for members and stakeholders.
 Legislative Tracking: Monitor state legislative activity using Soft Edge software;
manage timely updates and maintain organized tracking systems.
 Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and support relationships with member
practices, allied organizations, lobbyists, and other partners engaged in state
advocacy.
 Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with the Advocacy Manager and
broader policy team to align state efforts with federal priorities and organizational
goals.

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in public policy, healthcare administration, political science, or
a related field.
 3–5 years of professional experience in healthcare advocacy, legislative affairs,
or public policy.
 Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate
complex issues into accessible content.
 Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple
deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
 Experience with legislative tracking platforms preferred.
 Knowledge of healthcare policy and/or experience working with medical
associations or provider organizations is a plus.
