Context:

As a regulated water and wastewater utility, we are regulated at the federal, state and local levels. In the dynamic world in which we live, we must not only be aware of changing laws and regulations which impact our business, the customers we serve and the environment, we must influence those changes. We also must report to Public Utilities Commissions and other state and local government and quasi-governmental agencies with accurate filings.

As a part of local communities we serve, we must stay abreast of local cultures and needs, responding appropriately, and working towards mutually beneficial goals, collaborating when possible. This is not only at a community level, civic or special interest group, but also to the individual customer level.

Position Objectives:

Responsible for influencing public and government policy at all levels advocating for the tools and relationships needed to fully meet our mission statement. Responsible for regulatory compliance and oversight of regulatory filings and strategic planning in coordination with the President.

Education:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in complimentary field.
Preferred: Master’s Degree

Certifications/Licenses:
Required: Valid driver’s license
Preferred: License to practice law

Experience:

Required: A minimum of 8 years’ experience in external affairs, advocacy, communications with increasing levels of responsibility and supervisory roles.

Compensation:

Annual Salary $100K – $130K, depending on experience

Travel:

Required: Up to 30% of the time both within and without the Location.
