**Job Title:** Vice President, Health Policy & Reimbursement

**Position Overview:**
The Vice President of Health Policy & Reimbursement will work closely with other MDMA leaders and member representatives to develop and execute strategic policy, advocacy, and education initiatives aimed at providing timely patient access to innovative medical technologies through appropriate reimbursement. This executive will represent the association and its members before federal agencies, policymakers, and key stakeholders to shape coverage, coding, payment, and related policies that impact the medical device sector. The ideal candidate is a seasoned health policy professional with deep expertise in Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer dynamics, and a strong understanding of the unique regulatory and reimbursement environment for medical technologies.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– **Policy Leadership:** Develop and manage strategies and initiatives to influence federal reimbursement and market access policy, with a focus on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) (Medicare Parts A, B, and C), Medicare Administrative Contractors, the Department of Health and Human Services, the American Medical Association, and private payers.
– **Member Engagement:** Serve as a primary staff liaison to member companies on reimbursement issues. Lead policy committees and working groups, manage policy development, and provide regular analysis and updates.
– **Advocacy:** Analyze and prepare comments on rulemakings, proposed guidance, and legislation affecting coding, coverage, and payment for medical devices. Support the EVP of Government Affairs and the EVP of Public Affairs by providing policy expertise to legislators and the media as needed.
– **Stakeholder Collaboration:** Represent MDMA in coalitions with peer associations, patient groups, and clinical societies to advance shared reimbursement priorities.
– **Communications:** Present complex reimbursement issues to internal and external audiences, including association leadership, member executives, policymakers, and the media.
– **Team Leadership:** Manage and mentor junior policy staff and manage external legal and market access consultants.
– **Member Education:** Organize the association’s annual Reimbursement & Health Policy Conference, including developing the agenda, identifying and securing speakers and panelists, and serving as a session moderator. Support development of other educational conferences and programs, including the Annual Meeting and regular educational webinars.
**Qualifications:**
– Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in law or another related field (public policy, health administration, etc.) is strongly preferred.
– Minimum 10 years of experience in health policy or reimbursement, with a strong track record of working on issues related to medical devices or diagnostics.
– In-depth knowledge of Medicare coverage, coding, and payment systems; familiarity with private payer dynamics is a plus.
– Demonstrated experience influencing public policy and working with CMS and other federal agencies.
– Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, member-driven environment with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
