Job Summary

Are you ready to shape the future of digital video, audio, and Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) advertising? The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) is seeking a Vice President, Media Center to drive thought leadership, standards, and innovation across these rapidly evolving channels.

Reporting to the SVP, Centers of Excellence & Industry Initiatives, you will guide member-driven initiatives, convene industry stakeholders, and grow strategic advisory boards that accelerate the transition from traditional analog media channels to dynamic digital platforms. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Set the Media Agenda: Identify and prioritize opportunities to address key challenges in digital video, audio, and DOOH—focusing on measurement, standardization, and emerging technologies.
  • Oversee Media Center Boards: Launch and guide the strategic direction of the Video and Audio Boards, ensuring they serve as hubs for innovation, collaboration, and industry guidance.
  • Thought Leadership: Develop research, frameworks, and action plans around CTV, advanced targeting, programmatic advertising, and ecosystem health to drive member value and market advancement.
  • Council & Committee Management: Shape and lead the IAB’s Video and Audio Councils, aligning all efforts toward industry-wide growth and problem-solving.

Standards & Best Practices

  • Develop Industry Guidelines: Define, publish, and promote best practices for digital video, audio, and DOOH to ensure a consistent, secure, and innovative marketplace.
  • Collaboration with IAB Tech Lab: Partner closely to create and drive adoption of technical standards, fostering interoperability in measurement, data usage, and advertising formats.
  • Global Alignment: Coordinate with organizations such as MRC, WFA, and others to harmonize measurement and data standards across markets.

Research & Market Insights

  • Market-Making Studies: Work with the IAB Research team to design and release high-impact reports on media trends, audience behavior, and technology innovations.
  • Metrics Frameworks: Develop frameworks for ROI, viewability, fraud detection, and other critical success metrics in digital video, audio, and DOOH.
  • Technical Alignment: Collaborate with the IAB Tech Lab to align on audience taxonomy, creative specifications, and programmatic buying standards.

Member Support & Engagement

  • Educational Programs: Create and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and resources that equip members to navigate emerging trends, best practices, and critical challenges in media buying, measurement, and technology.
  • Industry Representation: Serve as the IAB ambassador at events, panels, and conferences, showcasing thought leadership and advocating for member interests in digital media.
  • Resource & Advisory Role: Provide one-on-one guidance for members seeking insights on evolving technologies, marketplace dynamics, and strategic partnerships.

Operational Excellence

  • Center Operations & P&L: Oversee staffing, budgeting, and overall performance of the Media Center, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with IAB’s broader mission.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other IAB Centers of Excellence (Commerce, Experience, Measurement, and AI) to drive integrated solutions that span multiple facets of the industry.
  • Deliverables & Timelines: Maintain adherence to IAB timelines and quality standards, ensuring key projects are completed on schedule and to high levels of excellence.

Requirements & Qualifications

Industry Expertise

  • 10+ Years of Experience: Proven leadership in advertising, digital media, or related fields, with a focus on digital video, audio, CTV, and DOOH.
  • Technical & Business Acumen: In-depth understanding of ecosystem players—publishers, platforms, tech providers, and agencies—and key areas such as programmatic advertising, audio/podcasting, and advanced targeting.
  • Established Relationships: Existing network among the media landscape’s core stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and consensus-building.
