About Miles for Military
Miles for Military is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to reuniting junior enlisted U.S. service members (ranks E-1 through E-4) with their families for holidays, milestone events, or emergencies. Through volunteerism and donated airline miles or funds, we remove the financial barrier that often prevents homecomings—strengthening family bonds, supporting emotional well-being, and promoting force readiness across our military community.
As we continue to grow our reach and impact, we’re looking for a strategic, mission-driven marketing leader to elevate our brand, expand awareness, and drive donor engagement and partnerships.
About the Opportunity
As Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Miles for Military, you will shape and lead the organization’s marketing, audience development, and communications strategy—enhancing visibility, driving donor engagement, building partnerships, and amplifying success stories that resonate with both civilian and military audiences. You will lead a small but growing marketing and communications team, aligning all efforts with our mission of bringing service members home.

- Manage all external communications, media relations, and public storytelling to raise awareness about Miles for Military.
- Serve as the organization’s communications lead for media outreach, press releases, social media, and community engagement.

-
Digital & Content Strategy

- Lead digital marketing: website, social media, email marketing, content development, search engine optimization (SEO), analytics, and reporting.
- Oversee creation of multimedia content (videos, photos, impact stories) that communicates the value and emotional impact of the mission.
- Optimize digital presence to broaden reach among potential donors, volunteers, and partner organizations.
-
Team & Budget Management
-
-
- Over time, build and lead a small but effective marketing/communications team (and manage external agencies/contractors, as needed).
- Manage marketing budget, allocating resources to maximize mission impact and donor ROI.
- Establish and track KPIs for marketing programs, adjust strategy based on performance data.
-
Partnership Development & Outreach
-
-
- Identify and cultivate partnerships with corporations, airlines, veteran-support organizations, community groups, influencers, and media outlets to expand reach and resources.
- Collaborate with other nonprofit leaders, military-support networks, and community stakeholders.
- Represent Miles for Military at events, conferences, or public appearances.
