Job Description/Responsibilities
Business and Community Engagement Officer (BCEO)
The Business and Community Engagement Officer (BCEO) will be responsible for overseeing outreach and engagement with businesses, community partners, and the community at-large within the state of Georgia, primarily in the metro Atlanta area. This role will support current and new initiatives of Capital Good Fund by partnering with local government and community organizations to build relationships and engage with the community. The Business and Community Officer will also be responsible for supporting and communicating initiatives and products as defined by the organization. Willingness to learn and understand Capital Good Fund’s suite of products and programs will be required.
In this role, the BCEO will:
- Attend local events and outreach opportunities as outlined by the Chief Business Officer
- Seek out new opportunities for engaging prospective organizations and clients through research and networking opportunities
- Work with local government agencies, community organizations, including GreenLight Fund Atlanta, to host and/or attend events throughout metro-Atlanta
- Participate in on-the-ground outreach activities that may include canvassing, tabling events, and meeting with local business partners
- Identify new opportunities to benefit the initiatives of Capital Good Fund, including promotion of the small dollar consumer loans, immigration loans and the Georgia BRIGHT program
- Collaborate and support the efforts of GreenLight Fund Atlanta as identified by the Chief Business Officer and the GLF team
- Track and report event details to share with stakeholders
- Additional responsibilities assigned as needed
- Availability to work some evenings and weekends as needed is required

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Community engagement or organizing
- Understanding of marketing and sales lifecycle
- Deep understanding of metro Atlanta communities
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Intermediate budget management skills
- Experience with Google-suite and CRMs (Salesforce experience preferred)
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Sales or business development experience
- Knowledge of local nonprofits and other community agencies in and around Atlanta
- Event planning

- Nonprofit background
Physical Requirements
Must live in the city of Atlanta or metro Atlanta to be considered for this role. Willingness to travel up to 65% per month. A working vehicle and active driver’s license are REQUIRED. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends, as needed. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Training and Compensation
The BCEO will receive extensive training on all of Capital Good Fund’s products, services, policies, procedures, and technology.
This is a full-time forty-hour-per-week position. The BCEO will earn an annual salary range between $54,000-$64,000.
In addition, the BCEO will receive a competitive benefits package that includes a 401(k) plan with a dollar-for-dollar employer match of 1% of gross earnings with a contribution of 1%, medical insurance with a $500/month employer subsidy, dental insurance fully covered by the employer for routine dental care, 5 paid personal days per benefit year, 15 vacation days in the first year on staff, and the opportunity to apply for personal loans of up to $2,000 at 0% interest.
