### The Manager of Member & Community Recognition

The Manager of Member & Community Recognition plays a vital role in the execution of department strategies, as well as manages the operational components of an expansive global awards program. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, communicative, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in fast-paced, high-performance environments. Additional components of this role include providing essential support to the Senior Manager of Member & Community Recognition, assisting in the management of day-to-day operations of the IDSA Awards, IDSA Student Merit Awards, IDSA Education Papers, IDSA Design Foundation Scholarships, and International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) programs, and focusing on providing excellent service to applicants and candidates while successfully implementing strategies for continuous improvement.

#### Program Execution and Management

– Implement and oversee the execution of award strategies and plans as outlined by the Senior Manager of Member & Community Recognition.
– Coordinate the organization and delivery of various award offerings, ensuring all components are executed flawlessly.
– Manage multiple award timelines, deadlines, and schedules to ensure the smooth operation of all awards programs.
– Configure and administer awards programs in the OpenWater system.

#### Administrative Support

– Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Senior Manager of Member & Community Recognition.
– Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other necessary documentation related to the awards department.
– Handle correspondence, scheduling, and other administrative tasks for the Senior Manager of Member & Community Recognition and the awards programs.

#### Project Management

– Develop and maintain project plans, tracking progress and ensuring all project milestones are met.
– Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities effectively.
– Collaborate with IDSA staff teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution.

#### Communication and Stakeholder Management

– Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding the awards programs.
– Communicate effectively with award applicants, jurors, and other key stakeholders.
– Ensure all communications are clear, professional, and aligned with IDSA’s standards.

#### Process Improvement

– Continuously collect, evaluate, and execute improvement processes related to the awards program to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
– Identify opportunities for innovation and implement best practices in awards management.

#### Data Management and Reporting

– Maintain accurate records and databases related to award applications, recipients, and program metrics.
– Prepare regular reports and analysis on the performance and impact of the awards program.

#### Event Coordination

– Assist in the planning and execution of the IDEA Ceremony and Gala at the International Design Conference and other related events.
– Work with IDSA Meetings & Events team to coordinate logistics, catering, and audiovisual needs.
– Ensure a seamless and memorable experience for all attendees.

#### Volunteer Committee Management

– Manage and coordinate the activities of multiple volunteer committees involved in the awards program.
– Provide support and guidance to committee members, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
– Ensure volunteer committees are well-informed and equipped to fulfill their roles in the awards process.

#### Support for Award Juries

– Assist in the recruitment and coordination of high-profile, distinguished design professionals to serve as award jurors.
– Provide logistical and administrative support to award juries, ensuring a seamless and efficient judging process.
– Maintain strong relationships with jurors, fostering a positive and professional experience for all participants.

### Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree or higher.
– Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management, awards management, or a related area.
– Prior experience in association awards management and recognition programs.
– Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
– Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
– Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (e.g. Trello, OpenWater, etc.).

### Preferred Qualifications

– Certified Association Executive (CAE)
