Job Summary and Key Priorities
The Chapters Team mobilizes Active Minds Chapters and their members for civic engagement and advocacy aimed at mental health social change. The team supports chapters through three phases: Foundational, Activated, and Mobilized, with the goal of growing the number of peer mental health champions in the Chapter Network.
The Manager, Chapter Mobilization & Engagement provides direct support to chapters in the Activated and Mobilized phases, emphasizing retention and mobilization. This role centers BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth and young adults in program design and implementation, particularly supporting high school chapters. The manager will also manage the peer technical assistance team and provide strategic guidance to chapter advisors and members. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Chapter Partnerships & Engagement and may supervise the Chapters Intern as needed.

Key Results
Mobilization Training and Technical Assistance
- Provide Activated and Mobilized chapters with tools, resources, and technical assistance to collaborate with school and community partners and advance their advocacy from peer education to community, systems, and policy-level change.
- Manage the Peer Technical Assistance Team, composed of up to 10 chapter members who support the nationwide network of chapters. With support from the Program Associate, Chapter Onboarding & Registration, recruit, select, and provide training to participants. Manage the project budget and administer stipends.
- Support chapters to recruit and retain members, with the goal of retaining at least 8,000 chapter members annually.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communication and Operations teams to design effective chapter communications, including newsletters, drip campaigns, resource hubs, and more. Manage and execute direct member communication on Slack.
Specialized Support to High School Chapters
- Manage the High School Chapter Model in collaboration with the K-12 Initiatives Team to deliver training and technical assistance. Support high school advisors in advancing chapters through pre-outlined mobilization steps.
- Support high school advisors, in partnership with the Senior Manager, Chapter Onboarding & Education, and the K-12 Initiatives Team, to guide chapters toward mobilization milestones.
Centering of Measurement and Equity
- Collaborate with School Mental Health Team leadership, the VP of Equity & Inclusion, and other key stakeholders to execute program equity goals. Ensure materials promote safe, inclusive spaces across the chapter network.
- Assist in collecting data on program reach, impact, and membership rosters to support evaluation and reporting needs.
- Track and report progress of all projects to the Active Minds team and funders. Collaborate with the Measurement Team to assess outcomes and inform future programming.
Partner and Funder Relationship-Building
- In partnership with the Development Team, cultivate relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders to ensure deliverables and sponsorship requirements are met or exceeded.
Departmental/Organization-wide
- Maintain and track project records and communication in Salesforce, including youth and young adults involved in projects.
- Communicate and collaborate across the School Mental Health Team and wider organization.
- Meet or exceed strategic goals on time.
- Represent Active Minds externally at conferences, trainings, meetings, and events as needed.
- Participate in miscellaneous organization-wide duties.
Qualifications
- Experience engaging and mobilizing youth and young adults in leadership and advocacy roles.
- Experience leading or supporting student leadership teams virtually.
- Understanding of high school youth and the K-12 education system, with an emphasis on high schools.
- Baseline knowledge or experience in the mental health field.
- Knowledge of project management tools (Asana, ClickUp, Taskray, Basecamp, Monday.com, Trello).
- Experience designing youth-centered training programs in schools and communities.
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with the ability to build strategic partnerships.
- Strong belief in equity and social justice, with a drive to reflect and act on those values.

Compensation
This position offers an initial salary of $65,000 with robust benefits. Candidates meeting both minimum and preferred qualifications may be considered for a higher starting salary. The role is within the Level 3 salary band, which can grow to $92,000. FLSA Status: Exempt.
