Responsibilities

Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for a Public Policy Analyst to be resident in our Washington, DC office. This position will report to the Practice Group Leader. The Public Policy Analyst will work with members of the Public Policy practice. Communication with other firm personnel and people outside of the firm may be required to accomplish the duties of the position. Expected responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct in-depth legislative and fact research, producing concise summaries for internal teams and client-facing deliverables
  • Provide ongoing analysis and timely updates on relevant policy, industry, and client-specific developments including bill summaries, fiscal notes, and fundraising activity of regional and state candidates
  • Monitor and report on legislative and regulatory trends, ensuring internal teams and clients remain informed of key changes
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for research requests and special projects, ensuring timely and accurate execution
  • Develop and implement structured workflows, including project timelines and checklists, to support operational efficiency
  • Manage calendars and track critical deadlines to ensure seamless coordination across teams
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team’s goals and meet the billable requirements

Pursuant to DC law, the salary range for this position in Washington, D.C. is $65,000 to $75,000, based on experience. Dentons offers a competitive salary and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, profit sharing, short-term/long-term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Prior experience in the government is desirable, but not required
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Effective time management
  • Utilize research skills and abilities
  • Strong sense of good judgment
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills
  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Recognize and comprehend facts and legal concepts
  • Maintain and update databases
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite 2010
