Virtual Workshop
Virtual Public Speaking
July 22, 2026
1:30 p.m.− 3:45 p.m. ET
Speaking with confidence through a screen is now an essential leadership skill. Whether delivering a briefing to the C-suite, moderating a webinar or training your advocates, effective virtual communication depends on clarity, presence and connection. We’ll help you develop techniques to project credibility and authenticity online, adapt your style to digital formats and keep audiences engaged in an environment full of distractions.

Presenting with Clarity and Confidence Online
Virtual communication requires more than giving an in-person presentation online. Speakers need to think intentionally about how they appear, sound and connect through a screen. In this session, experienced presenters will share what has worked for them when briefing leaders, presenting to colleagues, leading webinars or training advocates online.
Topics include:
- Structuring virtual presentations with a clear purpose, flow and audience takeaway
- Using voice, pacing, facial expression and body language to strengthen delivery
- Perfecting your lighting, sound, background and camera positioning
- Adapting your style for different virtual formats, including briefings, webinars and trainings

Keeping Virtual Audiences Engaged
Audience engagement looks different when participants are behind screens, distracted by other work or hesitant to speak up. This session will focus on practical strategies to keep people involved, and speakers will share examples of what has worked, what has fallen flat, and how they read the virtual room and adjust in real time.
In this session, you will learn:
- Tips for how experienced facilitators recognize and respond to signs of disengagement or virtual fatigue
- Ways to use slide design, visuals and interactive tools to support, rather than compete with, your message
- Best practices for managing Q&A, handling difficult questions and closing with impact
