POSITION SUMMARY
Manage NAIFA’s grassroots programming and implement strategies to recruit, engage, and mobilize NAIFA member advocates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in developing strategies to identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships between NAIFA members and elected officials.
- Implement programs and develop materials to strengthen connections between NAIFA members and policymakers.
- Maintain and suggest improvements for Quorum reporting systems and processes to:
- Capture state and federal relationships and interactions with lawmakers
- Track and mobilize efforts in state and federal districts addressing key public policy issues
- Ensure regular sharing between state and federal lobbyists and grassroots contacts regarding interactions with lawmakers, as well as policy and regulatory initiatives.
- Facilitate initiatives to strengthen grassroots relationships, including in‑district fundraising events, advocacy training, and communications.
- Oversee NAIFA’s Financial Services Advocate academy and track participation.
- Maintain grassroots webpages on NAIFA’s Advocacy Action Center, NAIFA.org, and manage the annual updates of NAIFA’s GOTV site.
- Manage targeted grassroots action alert campaigns, coordinating with advocacy partners and internal stakeholders.
- Advise the Grassroots Committee and chapter grassroots leaders on program developments, performance, and growth.
- Oversee the development of chapter grassroots chairs, their CAO duties, and prepare materials necessary for training the chairs.
- Collaborate with the Communications/Marketing team on GOTV messaging and social media campaigns.
- Develop resources for legislative fly‑ins and Capitol Hill events, including mobile tools and in‑district meeting materials.
- Oversee scheduling and tracking of appointments for fly‑ins and district meetings; communicate updates to lobbyists and consultants.
- Implement grassroots‑related activities at NAIFA events and promote member engagement.
- Partner with the MACS team to support the appointment of chapter grassroots chairs.
- Build systems to strengthen relationships in targeted districts through regular communication (calls, briefings, and updates).
- Develop recognition programs for association advocates.
- Manage direct communications with advocates, including regular updates and intelligence sharing.
- Design and deliver live and virtual training programs, including speaker coordination and content development.
- Coordinate with the PAC to engage advocates in fundraising events and district activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong understanding of the legislative process
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong proofreading and editing abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Experience with databases and data management systems
- Ability to work effectively in a bipartisan environment
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute as a team player
- Maintain consistent attendance and professionalism in all interactions
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience (preferably Capitol Hill or grassroots advocacy experience), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
