## Program Manager – Common Cause Arizona
We are looking for a collaborative and highly organized Program Manager to join the Common Cause team in Arizona. In this role, you will lead and implement state programmatic efforts, manage relationships with key stakeholders, and coordinate advocacy activities to support our programmatic agenda. You will play a key part in advancing our mission to protect democracy and ensure the fair and equitable representation of all communities.
This is a full-time role reporting to the State Director and based in Arizona, with an expectation to travel around the state at least 2 days per week (up to 4 times per week during legislative session and election season). We hope our new Program Manager will start in August.

## Responsibilities
### Manage state programmatic work and campaigns
– **Lead statewide advocacy campaigns** — Execute statewide advocacy campaigns.
– **Support coalition work** — Manage working groups or project groups, organize meetings, coordinate actions, and ensure effective communication among coalition members.
– **Oversee election protection program** — Ensure communication and coordination with Common Cause Arizona members and Election Protection Arizona Coalition members; manage all program responsibilities on behalf of the coalition.
– **Lead policy research** — Conduct research, analysis, and identify opportunities for policy proposals aligned with statewide goals.
– **Draft and disseminate materials** — Prepare policy briefs, reports, and advocacy materials for decision-makers and stakeholders.
– **Monitor legislative developments** — Track bills and provide strategic guidance for timely responses to policy opportunities and threats.
– **Execute lobbying efforts** — Draft and manage testimony, public comment, and other advocacy tools.
### Outreach and stakeholder engagement
– **Build community relationships** — Strengthen Common Cause’s network through partnerships and community engagement.
– **Execute outreach campaigns** — Collaborate with the State Director and Election Protection Organizers to educate the public and encourage advocacy participation.
– **Lead One Million Conversations campaign** — Mobilize and train volunteer conversation hosts, track outcomes, and support state and national organizing strategy.
– **Represent Common Cause** — Attend community events and coalition meetings to build awareness and support.
– **Coordinate digital campaigns** — Manage digital and social media engagement aligned with organizational values and goals.
### Supervise temporary staff and interns
– **Manage temporary staff**
– **Recruit and mentor interns** — Train, coordinate, and support interns and volunteers.
### Provide fundraising and advisory board support
– **Support fundraising efforts** — Write grants, cultivate donor relationships, and manage reporting requirements.
– **Assist with administrative tasks** — Organize meetings, prepare materials, and support effective board engagement.

## The following is required:
– **Advocacy campaign experience** — Work on democracy, elections, voting rights, or civil rights campaigns.
– **Knowledge of Arizona democracy issues** — Understanding of statewide issues such as voting rights, redistricting, campaign finance, disinformation, ethics, etc.
– **Coalition management experience** — Experience managing diverse stakeholder groups.
– **Social media presence** — Willingness to be publicly tagged and create content for Common Cause.
– **Travel availability** — 1–2 trips per year for retreats; in‑state travel up to 2 days per week (up to 4 during legislative sessions).
– **Reliable transportation**
– **Flexible schedule** — Evenings and weekends as needed.
– **Nonpartisan compliance** — Staff may not hold or run for elected office, serve on candidate committees, or hold political party leadership roles.

## Additional information about this role:
This position is part of a union‑represented collective bargaining unit; employment terms are subject to negotiation.
Common Cause cannot sponsor employment visas. New hires must provide documentation authorizing work in the U.S.
### Salary Range
**$84,872 – $100,786 per year**
