Amy Meli to Join Public Affairs Council as Senior Director
Council to expand benchmarking practice and staffing for its Foundation
Washington – The Public Affairs Council has announced that Amy Meli will be joining the association as senior director, a position that will allow her to share her public affairs expertise with the Council’s membership, oversee benchmarking, and serve as executive director of the Foundation for Public Affairs. Meli will start her new position with the Council in Jan. 2022.
Meli comes to the Council from Aristotle International, where she served as senior vice president of consulting. She has more than 20 years’ experience in grassroots advocacy, data analytics, coalition-building, get-out-the-vote programs, and managing grassroots and PAC software products.
“We’re excited to have Amy join the Council staff and we know she’ll be an integral part of the team,” said Public Affairs Council President Doug Pinkham. “Amy is a talented and respected expert on grassroots advocacy and political involvement in general. She will help us meet the evolving needs of members as we build programming that strengthens the profession.”
Active in the Council for many years, Meli has spoken at numerous Council workshops and conferences, served on advisory committees, and authored a recent report from the Foundation for Public Affairs, entitled “Lobbying for Good.”
Meli received her B.A. in Communications Studies and Political Science from Virginia Tech and her M.A. in Political Management from The George Washington University. She currently teaches a graduate-level course in grassroots engagement at The George Washington University while pursuing her PhD in political science at the University of Maryland.
