Agenda
1:30 p.m. Compliance Overview
While the FEC prohibits certain PAC activities online, you can still leverage digital communications to motivate your audience. Social media provides a way to stay connected and can be an effective tool as we continue operating in a digital first world. It’s important to be aware of the legal and compliant ways you can use social media for PAC and grassroots. An experienced attorney will tackle the following:
- How can I use social media for my PAC, and can I use private social media groups to solicit my restricted class?
- Are there ways to promote my PAC and advocacy events through LinkedIn, Facebook, EventBrite or Twitter?
- Compliance for internal social channels (such as Yammer)
- Basic legal guidance for organizations using social media to advocate for legislation or changes in public policy
- When an organization’s social media advertising could trigger lobbying disclosure laws
