9:00 a.m. Identifying, Incentivizing and Training Your Most Important Advocates
Even just one engaged and knowledgeable advocate can accomplish more for your advocacy program than many non-committed participants. Recruiting these advocates is your first step, but training and motivating them is the key to long–term success.
In this session you will:
- Learn to develop a system for measuring involvement to identify existing and potential leaders
- Understand the strategies for creating a program in which grasstops leaders can grow, taking on new responsibilities and challenges as they gain confidence, knowledge and experience
- Hear from experts on how they have trained their ambassadors to convey a consistent message effectively when interacting with media or lawmakers
- Get tips and tricks for motivating key advocates through changing policy goals and unforeseen challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic
