9 a.m. Successful PAC Solicitations: Nuts and Bolts
Whether it is giving a PAC presentation to your board of directors, training your PAC champions to solicit their peers, or launching an annual PAC drive, running effective solicitation campaigns takes both the right messaging and execution. We’ll provide the components of a comprehensive solicitation campaign, including setting goals, identifying targets and exciting your audience.

9:45 a.m. Group Session: Solicitation Writing Exercise
Whether it’s for a solicitation letter, talking points for your peer solicitors or a video script, we all struggle with new language to promote our PACs. In this interactive session, breakout groups will dissect a standard solicitation letter to improve the message and make it more engaging. A facilitator will provide expert tips on achieving more compelling messaging when communicating on the value of the PAC.

11 a.m. PAC Fundraising During a Pandemic
When creating our PAC plans for 2020, it’s unlikely anyone imagined grappling with the uncertainties of a global pandemic. While most PACs paused or delayed planned solicitation campaigns, many are finding it’s necessary to resume communications and fundraising efforts in the near term. This session will feature case studies from organizations on how they’re restructuring their efforts, messaging and expectations amid the COVID-19 pandemic and economic uncertainty.
Our speakers will cover:
- Examples of resuming PAC solicitations and striking the right balance in tone and goals
- Ideas for virtual events and solicitation activities in place of in-person conferences and gatherings
- Non-political communications to keep your PAC community engaged
