The Hogans Fellowship is the Foundation for Public Affairs’ signature program centered around retention and advancement for emerging leaders in the public affairs profession

Applications for the 2023-2024 Hogans Fellowship are now closed. Check back in January 2024 for application information for the next class of Fellows.

Application

This program is centered on building the infrastructure to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the public affairs profession. We strongly encourage individuals that identify with the following backgrounds to apply

  • Minimum (3) years of Public Affairs experience
  • Black, Hispanic or Latino, Indigenous, Asian-American / Pacific-Islander
  • LGBTQ+

CRITERIA: Applicants should be committed to building, sustaining, and advancing a career in public affairs. We encourage individuals who aspire to grow their skillset and have a passion to lead. We are looking for individuals that are collaborative, pragmatic, and intentionally mindful of how decisions impact others and their working community.

Individuals working in any aspect of public affairs in the private or nonprofit sector are invited to apply. Some examples of public affairs jobs include jobs in external or internal affairs, government relations, grassroots engagement, PAC management, corporate or policy communications, and social impact. If you have questions about whether your role falls under public affairs, please contact us so that we can assist.

We are invested in supporting a cohort that desires to build a more equitable and inclusive profession where people of color and underrepresented groups feel accepted and excel.

Participation in networking events, professional development opportunities, and attendance at the 2024 Public Affairs Council Spring Board Meeting and Executive Conference come at no cost to Fellows. However, the Foundation is unable to fund travel to and from the Washington, DC area during the 2023-2024 program year. 

The deadline to apply for the 2023-2024 Hogans Fellowship is March 24, 2023.
