Responsibilities

Join us in our mission to drive the clean energy transition forward! We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join us as an Analyst, Clean Energy Transition. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in assisting the Edison Foundation Institute for the Energy Transition (IET) with its mission to inform electric companies and stakeholders about the latest advancements in carbon-free technologies. As part of our team, you’ll play a pivotal role in researching clean energy technology developments, creating informative content for public consumption, nurturing relationships with technology stakeholders, and organizing engaging events to promote awareness and collaboration.   • Research, develop, and curate content related to the commercialization of carbon-free technologies under the guidance of the Executive Director.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to review and update content regularly for dissemination on the IET website and in materials for members and stakeholders.
  • Design and implement systems to ensure timely updates of content in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Organize webinars, meetings, and events under the direction of the Executive Director to showcase clean technology progress among EEI members.
  • Assist the Executive Director and EVP, Clean Energy in implementing the IET-DOE-EPRI-LDES Council MOU on long-duration energy storage.
  • Provide administrative support to IET, including managing bills, invoices, scheduling internal and external meetings, and preparing for events.
  • Coordinate and support Advisory Committee meetings and liaise with the Foundation’s Institute for Electric Innovation for logistical support.
  • Offer logistical assistance to the Chief Sustainability Officers Group as required to facilitate their activities and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, including environmental studies/science, public policy, engineering, or other sciences
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience with clean energy technologies or relevant educational background in climate change and associated technologies
  • Previous experience in administrative and research roles
  • Public speaking experience or experience leading meetings a plus
  • Background in clean energy technologies and a willingness to learn more
  • A strong enthusiasm for advancing the clean energy transition
  • Excellent research skills and a curiosity about new topics that drives self-directed exploration of new issues and logical next questions
  • Proficiency in public speaking or a willingness to cultivate and enhance these abilities
  • Excellent time management and ability to follow through with assignments
  • Ability to manage up and foster collaborative relationships with colleagues at all levels
  • Excellent business writing skills
  • Experience with website design and maintenance using InDesign and Adobe, along with commonly used virtual meeting platforms such as Teams, WebEx, Zoom.
  • Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite encompassing Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

The salary range for this role begins at $65,000. Starting annual salary will be determined on individual qualifications. EEI also offers an annual performance incentive which is prorated for mid-year start dates. This incentive is typically up to 10% of base salary. Office Protocol

This is a hybrid position which requires the incumbent to reside in the District of Columbia metropolitan area and come into the office a minimum of three days each week with two of the mandatory days being Tuesday and Wednesday.
