Invariant, a bipartisan government relations and communications firm providing strategic advice to companies, trade associations, non-profits, and individuals, seeks an Associate, Government Relations to join our team. You’ll work directly with team members to gain valuable insights into the policymaking process and develop your network on the Hill and with Washington stakeholders.

## What you’ll do
– **Research and draft policy updates** — policy updates, issue papers, one-pagers, and other collateral for distribution to clients, Capitol Hill, the Administration, and other external audiences.
– **Provide coverage of hearings** — third-party events, and monitor and track federal legislation and regulations.
– **Spot issues and disseminate information** — identify emerging issues and share timely insights with clients while developing subject‑matter expertise.
– **Coordinate meetings** — schedule and support meetings on behalf of clients with federal policymakers, external stakeholders, and others.
– **Support networking and business development** — assist with events, relationship‑building, and new business opportunities.

## Who you are
– **Familiar with the federal legislative process** — understanding of federal agencies, third parties, and associations; Capitol Hill internship experience preferred.
– **Strong researcher and writer** — able to interpret Washington for varied audiences and identify trends.
– **Excellent organizational skills** — capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines with precision.
– **Comfortable in fast‑paced environments** — adaptable and steady under pressure.
– **Solid communication skills** — able to manage communication both up and down.
– **Goal‑oriented team player** — focused on adding value, deepening knowledge, and improving efficiency.
– **Proactive and creative** — takes initiative and brings new ideas.

The target salary range for this role is **$60,000 – $67,500 USD annually**. The base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and market data.
