The Impact You Can Have

As the Associate Manager, Influencer Relations you play a key role in building affinity and consideration for Ulta Beauty through the development and scale of critical relationships with creator and influencer storytellers. Your goals will center around increasing share of voice and earned media value for Ulta Beauty throughout the creator and influencer communities, leveraging external events, mailers, campaigns, and affiliate strategies.

You will further establish and expand Ulta Beauty’s position within the industry influencer landscape, architecting competitive strategies and leveraging your network of relationships to do so. This role will build out a roster of consistent, long- and short-term relationships with nationally relevant on-brand creators and influencers along with mining opportunities to co-create inspiring campaigns and initiatives with this community.

As the Associate Manager, Influencer Relations, you have an eye for trends, can’t get enough of innovative collaborations, relationship building, or connecting the dots when it comes to influential tastemakers. You know what moves the needle and how to get in front of the right people with the right ideas.

You’ll Accomplish These Goals By:

Influencer Relations

  • In partnership with the Senior Manager and Manager of Influencer Relations, propose and execute influencer strategies for Ulta Beauty that support the overall marketing calendar and priorities.
  • Implement a nationally and locally relevant talent constellation strategy inclusive of celebrity, ambassadors, influencers, and creators to increase visibility, desirability, and positive momentum for the brand.
  • Identify and develop relationships with key influencers (new and existing) to build brand relevance through both organic gifting and paid partnerships.
  • Execute day-to-day activities of talent and influencer contracts, negotiations, payments, invoicing, and budgeting.
  • Map out influencer mailer strategy, inclusive of creative, vendors and/or merchants, taking into consideration various goals and budgets.
  • Support branded events, from conception to execution, including but not limited to concept strategy, creative ideation, attendee confirmation, and internal creative management.
  • Partner with the Social team to ensure influencer content is integrated seamlessly into social media strategy for both new launches and always-on support, both organic and paid.
  • Ideate fresh and impactful ways to engage Ulta Beauty’s influencer community with a 360-degree approach across DTC, retail, press, makeup artists, dermatologists, and social platforms.

Analytics + Reporting

  • Analyze, review, and report on the effectiveness of campaigns as well as always-on content pillars.
  • Build monthly reporting and presentations; identify, track, analyze, and measure performance against KPIs.

Thought Leadership

  • Be a strategic thought partner cross-functionally as a resource to external teams.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning, positivity, and a commitment to quality.
  • Maintain authentic relationships with key relevant influencer partners, managers, and agencies.
  • Monitor competitive activity and community platforms to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Track ongoing trends in social media and influencer management; monitor competitive brands and innovative tactics for the future in influencer management.

The Essentials for Success

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of influencer marketing, social/digital media, and/or influencer affiliate experience; beauty industry experience preferred.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with robust external relationships across influencer and talent agencies, creators, agents, and networks.
  • Beauty enthusiast with strong commercial awareness of the beauty industry.
  • Adept in thinking like an educator and an entertainer, intuitively understanding what the audience needs to know and how they want to consume it.
  • Experience managing talent, creator, or media relationships is a plus.
  • Both creative and data-driven mindset; understanding of influencer analytic tools and how to apply learnings.
  • Strong project management skills to coordinate with diverse teams and meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.
  • Positive attitude, a thirst for knowledge, and an excitement for delivering a best-in-class consumer engagement experience for the Ulta Beauty guest.
  • Experience pulling influencer analytics directly from platforms; comfortable with CreatorIQ/Tribe Dynamics and Tracckr; able to pull, analyze, and disseminate influencer insights and KPIs.
