## Job Description

### Your mission

As a Compliance Monitoring and Testing Manager (Compliance Oversight), you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring Wise’s adherence to regulatory requirements, particularly concerning our second-line monitoring and testing program, banking partners, audits, and examinations. Your responsibilities will include:

– **Design control testing** — Design control testing plans and evaluate compliance with rules and regulations.
– **Audit & examination management** — Lead the preparation and management of regulatory examinations and audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
– **Compliance framework development** — Support the development and maintenance of Wise’s Regulatory Compliance oversight framework, including policies and procedures.
– **Controls testing delivery** — Deliver meaningful controls testing, including scoping reviews, controls assessments, and documenting findings.
– **Regulatory remediation** — Work with teams to ensure regulatory compliance issues are remediated in line with agreed timelines.
– **Control gap communication** — Proactively communicate solutions to address control gaps or enhance processes.
– **Regulatory education** — Educate teams about US and CA regulatory requirements and empower them to build clearly documented, risk‑based processes.
– **Compliance culture oversight** — Oversee and maintain a healthy compliance culture throughout the organisation.
– **Adaptive compliance focus** — Adapt focus on different compliance issues depending on growth plans and compliance needs.
– **Risk assessment** — Execute and enhance quarterly monitoring across key risk areas and assist in preparing committee and board reports.
– **Stakeholder collaboration** — Work closely with operational, finance, product, and engineering teams to integrate compliance into business processes.

## About you

– **Monitoring & testing experience** — Experience in a Financial Regulation advisory role or in Compliance/Legal, Financial Crime Oversight, Risk & Controls, or consultancy.
– **Professional qualification** — J.D., Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager, or similar.
– **Regulatory familiarity** — Knowledge of Financial Crime, Reg E, UDAAP, E‑Sign Act, and state Money Transmission License regulations.
– **Regulatory interpretation** — Ability to analyze and interpret complex regulatory frameworks.
– **Technical communication** — Ability to communicate effectively with Product Managers and Engineers, offering practical and actionable recommendations.
– **Presentation skills** — Strong presentation abilities.
– **Problem solving** — Use regulations and data to drive business decisions.
– **Fast‑growth experience** — Experience or interest in fast‑growing environments.
– **Travel readiness** — Willingness to travel to Wise offices across countries.
– **Work authorization** — Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

### Some extra skills that would be great

– **Excel & GRC tools** — Familiarity with Excel, Confluence, Jira, and GRC platforms.
– **International collaboration** — Experience working with international teams and understanding global regulatory environments.
