### About the Committee

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (the “Committee”) is a nonpartisan, non-profit organization committed to educating the public about issues that have significant fiscal policy impact. The Committee is made up of some of the nation’s leading budget experts including many of the past Chairmen and Directors of the Budget Committees, the Congressional Budget Office, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Government Accountability Office.

### Job Overview

The Congressional Coalitions Director/Manager will contribute to the organization’s legislative efforts by managing the operations, recruitment, development, and engagement of Congressional coalitions on a variety of fiscal policy and good governance-related topics. An ideal candidate will have impeccable project management, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills; and experience engaging Congressional staff. The position could be senior or mid-level depending on the applicant.

### Primary Responsibilities

– Building and managing coalitions of lawmakers and Congressional staff
– Developing medium and long-term strategic plan for Congressional coalition building
– Designing and executing group programming, including recruiting high-level speakers for briefings
– Writing and disseminating regular communications with key groups and outside stakeholders
– Developing materials for Hill audiences such as one-pagers and talking points
– Coordinating internally with the legislative, policy, and public engagement teams to support Congressional coalitions
– Growing Congressional relationships for Committee’s leadership and staff

### Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

– At least five years of experience in outreach, advocacy, coalitions building or campaigns including Hill experience
– Excellent organizational and project management skills with ability to establish and implement systems and identify resources to ensure successful completion of projects
– Existing Capitol Hill relationships
– Interest in economic policy, federal budget, tax, and entitlement issues before Congress
– Proven ability to work in fast-paced team environments
– Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate policy ideas and legislative proposals concisely and effectively to Members of Congress and their staff
– A bachelor’s degree

### Salary and Benefits

Salary: $70,000 to $150,000 with generous benefits package including health, dental, life and long-term disability insurance; 403(b) contribution; and paid time off.
