### Job Summary
The Congressional Lobbyist is a congressional affairs position within the Division of Government and Public Affairs and is located in Washington, DC. Incumbent shall be responsible for advocating legislative priorities of the Association.
### Must Have:
– Bachelor’s degree
– A minimum of five years’ experience as Lobbyist or as a Congressional or political party staff person
– Experience developing and implementing legislative, lobbying, and political strategies
– In-depth knowledge of Congress and the legislative process
– Hill experience with particular knowledge of major Congressional health committees, health associations and federal health care issues
– Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communications and analytical skills
– Established relationships with Members of Congress and their staff
– Ability to respond to legislative changes, development of alternative legislative approaches and political developments, strategies and tactical planning
– Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
– Evenings/weekends for work/meetings and occasional travel
### Nice to Have:
– Advanced degree (e.g. Law degree, Master’s degree, etc.)
– Experience with Teams and Online Congressional Directory, e.g. Politico
