## Position Summary
The Director of Federal Technology Policy will be responsible for managing and implementing the National Association of Realtors’ (NAR’s) technology‑related policy efforts. This includes identifying emerging trends in technology that inform NAR policy making. The Director works under the supervision of NAR’s Vice President for Policy Advocacy.

## Duties and Responsibilities
– Advocate with Congress and the Executive Branch on federal‑technology policy issues that advance the interests of the members of the National Association of REALTORS®.
– Serve as the Staff Executive for NAR’s Federal Technology Policy governance committee.
– Identify, analyze, and monitor emerging technology policy trends to assess potential impact on real estate. Subjects include, but are not limited to: artificial intelligence (AI); data privacy; cybersecurity; Multiple Listing Services data ownership, access, and syndication; fintech (including use of AI in the mortgage process); fraud prevention; remote notarization; blockchain; drone and virtual‑showing technology; algorithmic bias; Americans with Disabilities Act website compliance; and automated valuation models.
– Advise members and staff of NAR’s Multiple Listing Issues and Policy Committee and the Multiple Listing Services Technology and Emerging Issues Advisory Board on national issues and industry practices affecting MLS policies, rules, and services, and lead any advocacy response.
– Work with industry stakeholders and others to build coalitions to advance federal‑technology policy positions of the National Association of REALTORS®.
– Develop and disseminate testimony, formal comments, letters, white papers, and published articles related to federal‑technology policy.
– Develop and maintain dialogue with industry organizations, congressional committee staff, Administration and agency officials, and state and local Realtor® associations.
– Deliver public presentations and speak in the media on federal‑technology policy issues on behalf of the National Association of REALTORS®.
– Innovate, design, support, and implement new products and initiatives that advance homeownership, consumer benefit, and fair‑housing/fair‑lending.
– Manage consultants assisting on federal‑technology policy issues.
– Coordinate with and support NAR’s Strategic Business Innovation and Technology Group in promoting NAR technology priorities, events, and programs, including the NAR REACH accelerator and the annual Innovation, Opportunity, and Investment (iOi) Summit.
– Anticipate need for member education and respond to member inquiries on federal‑technology matters.
– Other duties, as assigned.

## Qualifications
– At least 7 years of related advocacy experience at a trade association, law firm, lobbying and consulting firm, or public‑relations firm, including at least 5 years of experience lobbying Congress and federal agencies on federal‑technology issues, or commensurate experience at the State level.
– Comparable advocacy experience at a regulatory‑technology or mortgage‑technology company.
– Experience communicating, negotiating, or partnering with technology companies to advance public policy.
– Ability to work collaboratively and develop partnerships with trade associations, industry partners, and government entities.
– Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation—including experience communicating in the media to advance technology‑policy interests.
– Highly organized and results‑oriented with strong attention to detail, ability to multi‑task, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast‑paced team environment.
– Ability to think in innovative ways to find solutions to problems.
– Dynamic, resourceful, self‑starter mindset.
– Strong customer‑relations and interpersonal skills with a high level of responsiveness to all inquiries.
– Ability to travel up to 25%.
**Compensation:** $190,000–$210,000 depending on office location
**Benefits:** NAR provides comprehensive benefits including health/dental/vision insurance.
**Schedule:** NAR is on a hybrid schedule and in the office 3 days a week.
