The Anduril Government Relations (GR) team is responsible for developing and implementing Anduril’s government affairs strategy with the federal legislative and executive branches as well as state and local government officials.
ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a Director of Government Relations to join our rapidly growing team in Washington, DC.
In this role, you will assist in the development of the engagement strategy with Members of Congress, Committee Staff, Congressional Leadership teams, Caucuses and other bodies, as well as the executive branch to increase support for budgetary and policy requests that have direct and material impact on Anduril revenue targets.
You will also represent the company before a range of audiences including Members of Congress and their staff, Committee Staff, executive branch officials, industry groups, think tanks, and others.
You must have extensive knowledge and experience with national security–related U.S. federal budget/appropriations and policy-making processes, and an understanding of how these processes impact and support the company’s business development agenda.
You should be a self-starter with strong communication skills—both verbal and written—and work well as part of a team. WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a key member of the Government Relations team, roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Be a proactive strategic agent on behalf of the company’s interests and help set, form, and shape the agenda with a focus on informing policymakers to advance the near- and long-term interests of the company.
Support the creation and execution of government relations strategies to build the company’s reputation, enhance strategic positioning in the industry, and increase understanding of the company’s objectives in Washington, DC.
Design, implement, and drive GR strategy across multiple business lines and fiscal years to ensure alignment with corporate and business goals.
Engage in company-wide efforts to enact strategic national security policy and funding priorities through congressional and executive branch processes.
Work with the GR team and business line leadership to identify business and policy opportunities and advise on legislative strategies to accomplish specific and company-wide goals.
Lead coordination with Anduril’s communications, legal, corporate development, and other teams to execute strategies supporting business priorities.
Plan and execute appropriations and authorization strategies that drive revenue capture across multiple business lines.
Coordinate visits by congressional Members and staff to Anduril facilities domestically and, when required, internationally.
Draft and manage the congressional engagement process, including white papers, PowerPoint presentations, congressional testimony, hearing preparation, and other deliverables.
Monitor, analyze, and engage with the annual congressional policymaking process, especially appropriations and defense/homeland security policy.
Collaborate internally and externally on messaging, outreach, and Anduril priorities to ensure coordination across teams, consultants, and senior leadership.
Support the company’s Political Action Committee (PAC) priorities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least 7+ years of experience in national security, government relations, and/or the federal executive or legislative arena.
Extensive defense/national security experience on Capitol Hill or in government relations roles with the Executive Branch or defense industry.
Proven success in planning and implementing strategies to promote GR priorities and influence legislative and budget processes.
Deep knowledge of U.S. federal appropriations and policy-making processes across the Executive Branch, Congress, and related agencies.
Experience with defense policy, budget issues, and stakeholders in the defense/national security sector.
Strong relationship-building skills with Congressional and executive officials, industry leaders, and associations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently toward short- and long-term goals.
Ability to thrive in a decision-oriented, action-driven environment.
Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred but not required.
Ability to travel ~25% or more.
Must be available to work onsite in our DC office.
Position requires individual lobbyist registration under the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995.
Must currently possess or be eligible for a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
US SALARY RANGE
$168,000 – $252,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary depending on work experience, education/training, critical skills, and business considerations.
Highly competitive equity grants are included in most full-time offers and are considered part of Anduril’s total compensation package.
