#### Description
Reporting to the Chief Development/Marketing Officer and working in conjunction with the Development/Marketing team and Executive Director of the Penn-Mar Foundation, the Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for planning and executing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that enhance the organization’s brand, position within the marketplace, fundraising capabilities, and internal communications. This is a full-time, hybrid position that requires expertise in both marketing strategy and day-to-day execution. The role demands a balance of creativity and analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive, detailed approach.

#### Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
– Develop and oversee the marketing and communications strategies for both internal and external audiences, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives.
– Lead the creation and execution of various marketing and fundraising campaigns that effectively promote the organization’s mission, programs, and services, and secure donations.
– Lead and mentor a team of two marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence, and work closely with the rest of the Development team.
– Act as the primary contact for all public relations matters, proactively managing the organization’s reputation, coordinating media outreach, responding to media inquiries, and preparing team members for media engagements.
– Manage a roster of PR, graphic design, videography, print, and branded products vendors.
– Oversee the production of high-quality content for various channels, including the organization’s website, social media platforms, print materials, internal and external newsletters, and fundraising events.
– Collaborate with other departments, especially the Recruiting and Consulting teams, to support their marketing needs and ensure a cohesive organizational message.
– Support the organization’s culture initiatives, including recognition and appreciation efforts, and the development of consistent communications practices.
– Demonstrate sensitivity and awareness of the intellectual and developmental disability community, ensuring all communications reflect preferred language and current issues relevant to the community.
– Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in marketing to ensure that strategies and campaigns are innovative, and continuously explore new digital platforms and tools to enhance the effectiveness of marketing efforts.
– Analyze and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
– Manage the marketing and communications budget, ensuring resources are used efficiently to maximize impact.

#### Skills & Qualifications:

A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to marketing and communications will thrive in this position. Candidates should enjoy working with people and developing meaningful relationships.

– Proven experience in developing both internal and external marketing and communications strategies, preferably in a nonprofit or similar setting.
– Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
– Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
– Proficiency in digital marketing, including social media, email marketing, and analytics.
– Proficiency in graphic design and video editing.
– Knowledge of marketing and communications platforms, technology, trends, and best practices.
– Results and detail-oriented, with the ability to take initiative, and proactively manage multiple priorities and projects with tight deadlines.
– Ability to move initiatives forward without all the answers up front.
– Flexible and adaptable work style with the ability and willingness to work outside of standard hours when required, manage competing demands, and work independently.
– Ability to engage diplomatically with and engender the trust of people supported and their families, donors, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
– Sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential information.
– Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft 365, WordPress, Hootsuite, Meta Business, Google Analytics, and Canva, as well as fundraising software such as Raiser’s Edge NXT.

#### Education & Experience:
– A minimum of 7 years of experience in a marketing and communications role, with at least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
– A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, or a related field is desirable, but experience and track record are the most important qualification.
– Nonprofit or intellectual and developmental disability sector experience is a plus.

#### Salary
Our budgeted salary range for this position is as follows:

$75,000 – $90,000 annually

*The above budget salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration when determining base salary offers. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role offered, candidate’s experience, education, and skills.
