# About the Role
We’re looking for a Director of PR & Communications who can craft and amplify the GlossGenius story across every audience that matters — investors, employees, customers, and the broader market. This role is for a natural storyteller who sees the connections between different narratives and knows how to make them resonate with distinct stakeholders while building toward a unified brand vision. You’ll own our external communications strategy and execution, translating our product innovation and market momentum into compelling narratives that demonstrate GlossGenius’ category leadership.
You will report to the Chief Business Officer. You must be commutable to our NYC headquarters. We default to being in-office 3–4 days per week with required attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
# What You’ll Do
– **Craft narratives** — Craft compelling narratives and communications strategies that serve investor, employee, and customer audiences simultaneously
– **Connect dots** — Connect dots between our founding story, product vision, and market opportunity in ways that feel authentic and differentiated
– **Build media strategies** — Build and execute media strategies and programs that earn coverage in top-tier business, tech, and industry publications
– **Cultivate relationships** — Cultivate relationships with journalists and secure strategic placements that advance our positioning
– **Partner with leadership** — Partner with founders and executive leadership on thought leadership content, speaking opportunities, and public positioning across owned and earned properties
– **Draft executive content** — Draft and refine executive content including LinkedIn posts, blog announcements, keynote talking points, and media interviews
– **Use AI tools** — Use AI tools to accelerate content development, research, and media monitoring — from drafting and refining executive communications to identifying emerging narratives and tracking competitive coverage in real time
# What We’re Looking For
– **8–10+ years experience** — 8–10+ years in communications, with time at a top-tier PR agency and running in-house communications programs
– **Narrative track record** — Proven track record crafting narratives for fast-growing tech companies and brands loved by customers
– **Integrated communications** — Experience managing integrated communications across investor announcements, employer brand, and customer marketing
– **Earned media portfolio** — Portfolio demonstrating earned media placements in business and tech publications
– **Exceptional storytelling** — Ability to take complex ideas and make them compelling for any audience
– **Strategic thinking** — Understanding of how individual communications efforts ladder up to broader positioning goals
– **Execution excellence** — Balance of strategic thinking with hands-on execution and attention to detail
– **AI fluency** — Fluency with AI-powered writing, research, and media tools; ability to use AI to move faster and raise quality without losing human voice and judgment

The starting base salary for this role in New York is between $200,000–$250,000 + target equity + benefits. The base salary offered is dependent upon many factors including skills, experience, location, and education. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in GlossGenius’s equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within our total rewards offering.
