Starface is seeking a Director, Social Media Marketing to lead the strategic direction of our social presence across platforms. In this role, you’ll report directly to our SVP of Marketing and oversee the evolution of our platform strategy, content planning, and organic social ecosystem while helping strengthen the connection between organic and paid social efforts.

You’ll be the person with the clearest and most complete view of our social presence at any given moment—bringing together performance insights, cultural relevance, platform expertise, and creative thinking to help Starface stay ahead of where social is going, not just keep pace with it.

The right person for this role is deeply strategic but highly executional, creatively sharp without needing to own the creative itself, naturally collaborative, and obsessed with online culture and platform evolution. They know how to turn insights into action, write strong briefs that inspire great work, and create systems that make teams stronger.

– **Own and evolve social strategy** — Lead Starface’s social media and platform strategy across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms
– **Lead the content calendar** — Ensure every piece of content ladders back to a clear strategic purpose
– **Develop creative briefs** — Write thoughtful, actionable briefs that push ideas forward
– **Partner with creative teams** — Work closely with the creative team, including the Director of Social Content
– **Refine platform playbooks** — Build and update platform‑specific playbooks, KPIs, benchmarks, and reporting frameworks
– **Monitor performance** — Translate insights into recommendations and next steps
– **Grow TikTok and Instagram** — Maintain and expand presence while identifying new platform opportunities
– **Strengthen organic + paid alignment** — Build a stronger feedback loop between teams
– **Collaborate with paid media partners** — Align on content needs, testing, and insights
– **Manage external agencies** — Ensure high‑quality strategic output and execution
– **Turn insights into action** — Improve creative and business outcomes
– **Stay culturally fluent** — Track platform shifts, internet culture, creators, and competitive activity
– **Lead and mentor reports** — Support two direct reports and elevate the social function

– **You have 6+ years experience** leading social strategy and managing owned channels for a consumer brand
– **You’ve worked at culturally relevant brands** known for strong storytelling
– **You know TikTok and Instagram natively** and understand real‑time platform behavior
– **You’ve built strategies from scratch** including reporting frameworks
– **You align organic and paid teams** in meaningful ways
– **You write strong creative briefs** that creatives actually want to use
– **You think strategically and execute well**
– **You’ve managed agencies** and know how to get great work from partners
– **You collaborate confidently with creative leadership**
– **You’re proactive, curious, and excited by social culture**

# salary & benefits

The compensation range for this role is **$140,000–$160,000 base**, depending on experience, plus bonus eligibility.
