Summary of Role
Government Affairs Team Position
GlobalFoundries is looking to add to their US Government Affairs team. This position, reporting to the Vice President of Government Affairs, will be based in Washington, DC and interface with GF’s corporate leadership to help shape public policy in support of GF’s strategic objectives. The candidate will help develop and effectuate strategies for engaging U.S. federal, state, and local legislators, regulators, municipalities, and other relevant third parties and industry groups.
Essential Responsibilities
- Engages in policy dialogues to grow, cultivate and enhance the Company’s relationships with government, advocating for policy positions.
- Ensures organizational awareness of government legislation and/or regulatory issues, responding as needed.
- Represents the organization in legislative proceedings and in the development of market rules and procedures.
- Facilitates engagement with government officials to exchange ideas and information on business activities and potential legislation.
- Supports the organization’s engagement in regulatory processes.
- Educates government stakeholders on the semiconductor industry and the company.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner, supporting Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs, all within legal and ethical bounds.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and or university.
- 8+ Years of relevant experience working in or with State or Federal government in a government affairs role or 8+ Years working for the executive or legislative branch.
- Demonstrated legislative project execution.
- Ability to work cross functionally across key stakeholders.
- Proven Project and Program Management execution and success.
- High degree of executive presentation presence.
- Potential travel – up to 25% – particularly to New York State and Vermont as needed.
- Language Fluency: English (Written & Verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
- JD or Masters in public policy or related field.
- Experience with Federal and State government policymaking processes.
- Experience working with the New York State government or the New York Congressional delegation.
- Science and Technology background with capability to digest and explain complex science and technology issues.
- Good communicator able to interact effectively with all levels of government, management, or global teams.
- Strong organizational and team-building skills.
- Ability to write in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
Expected Salary Range
$153,900.00 – $292,200.00
The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location.
