Climate Defiance is hiring an Earned Media Director

This position is responsible for generating earned media in print, radio, television, blogs, podcasts, and other media.

Location

Any location in the U.S. works, although we have a slight preference for candidates who live in or are willing to relocate to a major metropolitan area.

You are a great communicator. You stay on script and on message. You have experience working with the press.

Qualifications

  • Professional Experience: Experience generating earned media and liaising with press, ideally for progressive causes. You know how to take interviews, cultivate relationships with reporters, write press releases, cold call TV networks and journalists, etc.
  • Willingness to Travel: Flexibility and readiness to engage in extensive travel for actions and site visits.

Pay & Benefits

The salary for this position is $62,400 with additional benefits, including unlimited vacation time (with 20 days plus Christmas week encouraged), group health care, and a 401(k) with a 3% employer contribution.
