The Organization for International Investment (OFII) is seeking a take-charge professional with one to two years related experience to provide government affairs support in a busy trade association environment.  This position will play a significant role in OFII’s advocacy efforts at the federal and state levels by providing logistical, administrative, research, and writing support. This position will offer exposure to all of OFII’s legislative issues and opportunities to engage in the legislative process from a business association’s perspective.

The successful candidate should have a strong interest in policies impacting global businesses and have a keen understanding of the legislative process. This candidate must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines. Additionally, OFII is looking for an enthusiastic professional who is able to successfully build relationships with high-level executives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support federal and state advocacy efforts by managing research projects and preparing briefing and background materials
  • Assist in drafting legislative correspondence, letters, talking points, testimony and memos to OFII’s member companies
  • Participate in planning and executing of government affairs related events including membership meetings and lobby days
  • Track legislation of importance to OFII member companies on tax, trade, investment, lobbying disclosure, and campaign finance
  • Monitor relevant political news and federal and state legislative activities and inform staff accordingly 
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for all government affairs projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player with high professionalism
  • Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least one year of related experience working for a Member of Congress, trade association, or another government affairs firm
  • Strong computer skills using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and mail merges
