Job Details

Description:

Are you politically inclined and looking for a long-term job public affairs opportunity that offers upward potential?

If you’re looking to leave a cyclical job cycle and still want to contribute to shaping policy and outcomes, then we need to talk. That’s only if you prefer to be around genuine storytellers working to advocate for their patients.

The Position: Government & Public Affairs Specialist

Are you craving the opportunity to tap your government or similar experiences for a genuine purpose that offers you a real future? Our company works year-round to support and protect the compounding industry so the specialized pharmacies we serve can continue to provide personalized medicine to patients with unique needs. Having a background in a health field is an advantage, but more important is that you have a willingness to dive in, learn and be passionate about what we do.

You see, we need your sharp mind that doesn’t miss a beat. That’s because you’re an excellent listener who understands that getting it done right means being tenacious — yet courteous — about follow-ups. (Sharp elbows need not apply.) You’re uniquely suited for the work we do because of your even keel. You’re flexible enough to pivot when necessary, so you can keep things moving without losing momentum. This attitude gives you a calm demeanor, which helps you take hurdles and dead ends in stride, rather than personally.

We embrace the “there’s no ‘I’ in team” mindset and get the best results by relying on the strength of the team. As part of our small internal team, you’ll collaborate with the Director of Government Affairs and be a liaison for outside firms and associations. That’s where your strong business writing skills come in: for contributing to publications, communications to our vast network of pharmacists and white papers for our annual legislative conference. We need someone with your polish, who’s well-spoken, personable and has the focus and determination to see things through with finesse – to make the connections and tell the stories that help lawmakers truly understand our mission.

You’ve learned that meeting people where they are gives you a head start on winning them over. With this acumen, you understand that hours might vary, and can sometimes be demanding, because in this field it’s about making those meaningful connections and completing objectives, which may happen before 8 am or after 5 pm on occasion.

Your day-to-day location could be anywhere, as long as you are able to report to Washington, D.C., or PCCA’s Houston headquarters regularly. You’ll work with a wide cross section of people, including the exceptionally smart, yet down-to-earth pharmacists at PCCA. And you’ll help with outreach, which often involves educating lawmakers about the compounding industry, so count on lots of learning experiences and intellectual growth.

The Company You Keep

We suspect you’re craving a positive company culture that’s a little less talk and a lot more action. If this sounds like you, then you sound like us. At PCCA, we genuinely love what we do because we’re proud to deliver truly incredible products and services that enable pharmacists to improve patients’ lives. Our values are more than just words on a wall. We walk the walk every day – seriously. And, you’ll find our benefits are just as great as the people you’ll get to work with. You’ve found a stable company that cares about people. You’ll see that in so many ways, including the encouragement and support of management for your efforts.

Build a better future for yourself while you’re making a difference.

When you join our supportive team that wants to see you grow, succeed and flourish long term, then you get to leave behind the endlessly chaotic schedules and circumstances of your old job. Come be a part of our unifying cause: improving patients’ lives by supporting the dedicated compounding pharmacies we serve. We can’t wait to meet you!
