ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Support Public Policy Advocacy
- Draft policy documents and newsletters
- Coordinate meetings and fundraisers
- Conduct research to advance policy agenda
2. Coordinate Advocacy Days
- Organize events with policymakers in Washington and nationwide
3. Manage PAC Operations
- Oversee Political Action Committee activities
4. Liaise Across Departments
- Integrate public policy efforts association-wide
5. Represent Association
- Attend meetings, forums, and events on behalf of the association
6. Participate in Coalitions
- Provide advice and actively engage in coalitions
7. Assist in Board Preparation
- Contribute to the preparation of Board materials and presentations
8. Coordinate Department Functions
- Oversee various functions within the public policy department

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional with entry to three years of policy experience
- Team player, motivated, resourceful, organized, communicative
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail

- Ability to develop productive relationships internally and externally
- Proactive thinking and initiative
- Willingness to learn and improve skills
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Demonstrated proficiency in data management applications and electronic calendars
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent office experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regularly required to sit and stand, utilizing motor skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Generally quiet; may require flexible hours and limited travel
