Manager, People & Patient Engagement
The Manager, People & Patient Engagement will be responsible for the development and execution of internal and external communications and engagement activities related to patient advocacy, employee engagement, and employer of choice branding.
Key Duties & Accountabilities:
- Work with senior executives and internal teams to ensure that the messaging and information we present publicly and to our employee population is engaging and accurate, and that leaders presenting on the company’s behalf are prepared and well-supported
- Assist VP of Patient Advocacy and Head of HR to plan, direct, coordinate, budget for and evaluate the impact of patient/employee engagement activities and all internal employee communications and external patient advocacy communications
- Coordinate end-to-end participation in external event opportunities, such as speaking engagements, conferences, webinars and podcasts, for executive leaders on behalf of the company related to patient advocacy activities
- Building a Solid talent community with targeted outreach via networking, affinity groups, job fairs and conferences
- Plan, develop and manage contracts, payments and implementation of sponsorship agreements with global patient advocacy partners
- Partner with HR to develop and implement an internal communications and employee engagement roadmap aimed at engaging and inspiring employees and improving inter-department and inter-office communication
- Undertake priority research projects to support patient advocacy initiatives and planning
- Identify and develop company information such as announcements, speeches, presentations, technical articles, conference papers, community letters in support of patient advocacy and employee engagement initiatives.
- Oversee development and maintenance of corporate social media channels, including drafting monthly content calendars and securing necessary approvals, related to patient advocacy and employee engagement initiatives.
- Play a key role in identifying opportunities for thought leadership and executing on those opportunities in the form of research, message development, and the creation of compelling written materials.
- Plan, develop and manage internal communications channels including the company’s Intranet and other internal communications tactics to drive employee engagement, satisfaction, and productivity.
- Track, vet and respond to inbound inquiries related to partnership or other engagement opportunities/requests that further patient advocacy initiatives
- Develop and track KPIs to ensure communications are meeting desired objectives
- Liaise between a variety of functions to ensure communications are aligned with brand, strategy and policies
- Support potential crisis and change management activities including support of related external and internal communications

Knowledge: Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Previous experience comparable to 6+ years in communications, employee engagement or patient advocacy
- Pharma/biotech experience required, working knowledge of gene/advanced therapies preferred
- Experience managing issues and building corporate reputation for publicly traded companies is preferred
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an eye for detail
- Ability to communicate technical information for understanding across a variety of audiences
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines and changing priorities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with highly sensitive information and use excellent judgment on a variety of sensitive subjects

Travel Commitment:
Bi-monthly travel, both domestic and international, will be required.
