Position Summary:
The National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) is seeking a dynamic person to take a leading role in the development and execution of its Political Action Committee (PAC) fundraising and disbursement strategies.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage the development and implementation of a comprehensive PAC strategy for NMHC, ensuring alignment with the Council’s broader advocacy goals.
- Manage NMHC’s PAC operations, including day-to-day functions, fundraising efforts, and compliance requirements to achieve strategic objectives.
- Coordinate with the NMHC political team to develop a targeted disbursement strategy for NMHC PAC funds, supporting key campaigns and committees while enhancing NMHC’s presence on Capitol Hill.
- Design and execute a fundraising strategy to maintain existing donor engagement, expand NMHC PAC’s donor base, and grow contributions in alignment with NMHC’s political objectives.
- Leverage NMHC’s membership participation in the Personal Dollar Program to augment PAC disbursements and enhance overall political impact.
- Monitor and analyze political and election developments, including congressional polling, retirements, and candidate activities, to inform NMHC’s strategy.
- Develop and maintain a robust network of key stakeholders, including federal lawmakers, their legislative and political staff, and multifamily industry leaders.
- Manage the NMHC PAC Committee, serving as a liaison for NMHC members on political and legislative matters.
- Oversee compliance activities for NMHC’s PAC to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in planning and executing NMHC meetings and events as appropriate.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 8–10 years of significant experience in fundraising and/or Capitol Hill engagement.
- Established relationships with federal lawmakers and their staff, both legislative and political.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences, including government officials, NMHC members, and senior leadership.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of Federal Election Commission (FEC) laws and congressional ethics rules, including regulations related to solicitations, contribution limits, bundling, and fundraising events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) required.
