Summary
The PR Account Manager (AM) is a primary account contact for clients and the team. Primary responsibilities include understanding the scope of the PR program the agency is executing for each client, driving account strategy, overseeing junior team members, performing the work, driving results alongside team members, and delivering regular reporting on all campaigns to measure against KPIs. Additionally, the AM contributes to new business development.
You should have extensive knowledge of and experience with all social media platforms and be able to provide in-depth recommendations based on best practices guided by the strategic direction of our Digital Marketing Director. You should be comfortable creating graphics, videos, and other collateral in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite and taking insights from data tools to make informed decisions on optimizing content and creative needs.

Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of PR accounts and serve as a trusted consultant/advisor for clients, building relationships with existing and new clients.
- Display proficiency and fundamental understanding in various aspects of digital marketing while recognizing the interconnectedness and integration with the digital landscape.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop integrated strategies that combine PR and digital marketing expertise.
- Regularly develop new PR strategies, creative ideas, and plans, focusing on mid-level clients.
- Effectively communicate big picture logistics and tactics to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise and consult with clients regarding press campaigns, creative projects, and PR solutions, ensuring client satisfaction and meeting key performance indicators.
- Manage media relations opportunities, speaking to journalists and other members of the press.
- Develop news angles, stories, and pitches to further the client’s profile, products, and services.
- Analyze and present PR coverage and provide written reports.
- Fulfill the client’s key performance indicators and grow accounts.
- Lead, motivate, and coach junior team members in their respective roles, driving retention and team growth and performance.
- Stay informed about new opportunities in the PR industry and proactively identify potential new business opportunities.
- Contribute to new business pitches and develop compelling PR proposals, as well as identify and pursue upselling opportunities with current clients.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of agency experience.
- Proven media skills across print, online, and broadcast.
- Excellent content writing and copyediting skills.
- Creative and strategic thinker.
- Proficient with tools like Slack, Asana, and Google Docs.
- Strong initiative, leadership, and work ethic.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and non-verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptable, confident, and professional.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work remotely in a collaborative, virtual team environment.
- Basic digital marketing knowledge to enhance PR efforts.
