What is the Job About?
As the Public Affairs Advisor in the United States will be responsible for supporting the US-based public affairs efforts in close cooperation with the Head of External Affairs in the USA to position Grundfos as a valued contributor to solving water and climate challenges. The role includes mapping, assessing, and influencing relevant standards and legislation via engagement with relevant stakeholders to build a positive position for Grundfos. Ultimately, to support establishing Grundfos as a trusted partner and advisor for political stakeholders on water and climate issues in the United States. Candidates will work on a hybrid schedule out of the Brookshire, TX office (Houston area).
Your main responsibilities:
- Support in developing policy positions and other political content for Grundfos across our business units, to make sure the team has the right tools to do External Relations activities.
- Create a process to develop External plans across our selected regions and ensure they are aligned to divisional priorities in close collaboration with the Head of Public Affairs and senior business leaders to make sure our activities advance business including value-at-stake assessment.
- Prepare Management for engagement with public and institutional stakeholders. This will further enable a well-prepared and streamlined Grundfos representation at key public meetings, events and platforms.
- Personal engagement with political stakeholders to position Grundfos and influence regulation to shape market conditions.
Your background
We imagine that you have:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, political science, engineering or business required.
- A public affairs professional, preferably with 4+ years of experience in public affairs in the US.
- Comprehensive market and business development understanding.
- Experience in management support-prior experience in engagement and support of management in national and international political forums and initiatives
- Project management skills
- Experience with Creating position papers, consultation responses, opinion pieces, speeches (typically in cooperation with communication colleagues)
- Knowledge and past exposure about the water, industry and building sector preferred.
- A willingness to travel up to 30% if necessary. As a result, candidates should be able to maintain valid identification.
