VISTA Technology Services (VISTA): Public Affairs & Strategic Communications Analyst
Location: Ft. Meade, MD (Remote Position)
VISTA Technology Services (VISTA) is in search of a Public Affairs & Strategic Communications Analyst to support the DISA Cybersecurity customer at Ft. Meade, MD. This role is remote, with occasional onsite requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Plan:
- Provide technical and strategic communications support.
- Inform staff and stakeholders about CPI’s division/office mission.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in reliability, process cycle times, costs, quality, and productivity.
Position Requirements:
- Strategic Communications Plan Execution:
- Develop communication media (e.g., all hands briefings, executive briefings, articles, blogs).
- Ensure successful institutionalization of CPI across programs.
- CPI Training:
- Develop and maintain CPI training material.
- Align with Department of Defense and ASQ LSS Body of Knowledge.
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute CPI training.
- Government Guidance and Compliance:
- Evaluate and advise on published CPI guidance, policy, regulation, statute, or instruction.
- Ensure program compliance.
- Presentation and Documentation:
- Prepare briefs, presentations, financial benefit tracking documentation, statistical analyses, flowcharts, and diagrams.
- Suitable for presentation at Flag and SES levels.
- CPI Data Management:
- Manage CPI data and graphic contents.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and sustain documentation libraries.
- Handle associated files and records.
- Content Creation and Editing:
- Write and edit articles, press releases, and social media posts.
- Highlight program milestones and success stories.
- Articulate CPI mission in outside publications.
- Public Affairs Guidance:
- Develop and produce public affairs guidances.
- Draft/update fact sheets, talking points, briefing materials.
- Media Coordination:
- Assist with media training.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews.
- Provide responses to media queries.
- Engagement and Visibility:
- Coordinate, support, and track outside engagement efforts.
- Speaker and panel participation at events.
- Schedule meetings and briefings for program leads.
- Collaboration and Agile Methodology:
- Collaborate with CPI strategic communications teams.
- Manage multiple projects using agile methodology.
- Communication Skills:
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Facilitate change, cooperation, and resolution of complex issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of DoD strategic communications experience or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- 4+ years of experience developing, planning, and implementing strategic communication plans for DoD programs.
- 4+ years of relevant technical writing and public affairs experience.
- Advanced MS Office, SharePoint, and publishing tools and software skills.
- Experience managing multiple assignments and setting priorities.
- Knowledge of government document development processes and formats.
- Experience providing media training.
- Excellent work management skills.
- Expertise in communicating effectively orally and in writing.
