WSB is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Public Engagement Coordinator. This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for communications and public engagement.

What You Will Do:

  • Plan, coordinate, facilitate and manage the communications, outreach, and public engagement activities for plans and projects of varying size.
  • Coordinate media campaigns, key message construction, and deliver to a diverse audience.
  • Coordinate and create social media and digital campaigns that create authentic and targeted online engagement with stakeholders that represent their community.
  • Strategically develop project literature, both written and electronic.
  • Employ innovative community engagement techniques to reach a diverse audience of stakeholders.
  • Coordinate, organize, and facilitate formal and informal meetings, workshops, open houses, focus groups; coordinate promotional materials; and gather community and stakeholder input as needed.
  • Manage project helplines and liaise with community members regarding local projects and impacts.

What You Will Bring:

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate on the implementation of community advocacy, community relations, marketing, event planning, and public engagement strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; familiarity with AP style writing.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with people, especially those with different backgrounds, experiences, and cultures.
  • Ability to engage communities and develop relationships with community members and key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of engagement strategies and sensitivity to cultural diversity.
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflict situations.
  • Able to scale and present technical information to small and large groups.
  • Able to think strategically, analyze issues, and make sound decisions based on community and cultural standards.
  • Available to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs, political science, marketing, planning, urban studies, or related field and 2-5 years of applicable experience or equivalency.
  • Multi-lingual is preferred.
  • Optional: attach a writing sample with application.
