# REGIONAL CAMPAIGN MANAGER

Riders Alliance is a grassroots advocacy organization that builds the power of transit riders to win better public transportation. Since our founding in 2012, we’ve grown a small, collaborative staff and a membership base of more than 50,000 riders, winning major campaigns including Fair Fares and congestion pricing.

The Regional Campaign Manager will lead the development of Riders Alliance’s first campaign focused on improving commuter rail and public transit in strategic communities beyond New York City’s five boroughs. Working as part of the fundraising and organizational development team and collaborating closely with colleagues across the organization, the Regional Campaign Manager will build relationships with regional riders and supporters, create meaningful opportunities for them to participate in advocacy, and develop a growing constituency for fast, frequent, affordable, and reliable regional transit.

## Key Responsibilities

– **Campaign Strategy** — Build Riders Alliance’s first regional campaign, including driving campaign strategy and goals. Work with organizational leadership and colleagues across teams to develop and advance the campaign’s goals, strategy, priorities, and tactics.

– **Campaign Implementation** — Manage campaign implementation. Maintain work plans, timelines, budgets, expenses, events, and logistics for campaign activities.

– **Regional Constituency Building** — Identify and engage riders, civic leaders, and other prospective members and supporters motivated to improve commuter rail and regional transit service, affordability, reliability, and connections.

– **Strategic Partnerships** — Build strategic relationships with community organizations, civic institutions, labor unions, journalists, elected officials, and other potential allies that can expand the campaign’s reach and influence.

– **Participation Pathways** — Design accessible opportunities for new members and allies to contribute through 1:1 meetings, community and social events, canvassing, digital outreach, and campaign activities. Maintain data and track engagement against strategic goals.

– **Donor & Champion Cultivation** — Partner with colleagues on the fundraising team to identify and engage prospective donors, including individuals who may support Riders Alliance at the Conductors Council level and/or serve as grass‑tops voices to influence key elected officials.

– **Regional–City Alignment** — Help regional members and leaders understand New York’s transit network as an interconnected system. As relationships deepen, create opportunities for them to support shared priorities impacting riders across the region, including NYC’s bus and subway service.

– **Cross‑Team Collaboration** — Coordinate closely with the organizing, policy, and communications teams to exchange knowledge, align strategies, and devise tactics, ensuring the regional campaign aligns with Riders Alliance’s broader mission and priorities.
