Position Overview
The Senior Manager of Citizen Engagement at the Congressional Management Foundation (CMF) plays a pivotal role in enhancing CMF’s relationships with partners, stakeholders, and supporters, while also spearheading initiatives to engage citizens in the democratic process. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, this multifaceted role involves partnership development, overseeing citizen engagement activities, project management, and strategic communications.
Responsibilities
Partnership Development
- Develop and implement the business plan for the citizen engagement membership programs.
- Grow and maintain partnerships with advocacy associations and organizations through our membership and advocacy training programs.
- Oversee citizen engagement research initiatives, coordinating with internal staff and consultants.
- Develop educational products and content for subscribers, including the online training platform, presentations, webinars, and reports on advocacy and citizen engagement.
- Coordinate speakers for citizen-advocate presentations and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Deliver presentations to citizen advocacy audiences through various channels, including in-person trainings, advocacy bootcamps, and webinars.
Communications
- Develop and support communications plans to effectively engage with partners, stakeholders, and citizen engagement supporters.
- Craft compelling communications tailored to various stakeholders, including congressional staff, donors, and advocacy groups.
- Track stakeholder activities and services in the CRM database (Salesforce).
- Produce reports on organizational activity.
Reporting Structure
This position will supervise two employees and reports directly to the President/CEO of CMF.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent writing/editing skills.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably in a nonprofit or association setting.
- Experience managing a team (preferred).
- Proficiency in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Previous experience with online CRM databases (Salesforce) and project management software (Asana) preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a small, dedicated team.
- Highly developed communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
