What You Will Do

Guidehouse is seeking a Strategic Communications Specialist to join our Defense and Security Segment in support of a federal government agency. The Strategic Communications Specialist will be responsible for providing task leadership, day-to-day support and developing key deliverables for a program office that provides direct support to the agency mission.

  • Develop and execute project tasks/deliverables and support the Project Manager in finalizing project tasks/deliverables.
  • Support multiple, concurrent tasks, while ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to standards, and timely delivery of all products.
  • Coordinate and direct team members in completion of strategic communications products and inputs to larger deliverables.
  • Organize and actively participate in client meetings, including scheduling meetings; drafting and delivering agendas, meeting presentations and meeting minutes; providing and archiving required documentation; and documenting, tracking and following-up on action items.
  • Help inform decision-making through development of presentations, data visualizations and trackers.
  • Develop executive briefings, talking points, and strategic communications/work products such as newsletters, infographics, and other related marketing materials and graphics that promote program awareness and updates.

What You Will Need

  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • FIVE (5) years of professional experience in an office setting, including TWO (2) years of strategic communications experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Critical and strategic thinking to solve problems and develop innovative solutions to client’s management and operational challenges
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-based work environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and quick-turn deliverables
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially MS PowerPoint, and MS Word

What Would Be Nice To Have

  • Active DHS or Component clearance
  • Proficiency in MS SharePoint.
  • Experience leading and directing teams in completion of tasks
  • Ability to adapt quickly and develop successful professional relationships with the Guidehouse team, the customer, and their stakeholders (both internal and external)
  • Experience in performing data analysis; strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate and analyze complex data sets.
