Why do we need you?

šŸ“¢ Our Public Advocacy Team is looking for a VIE to support its advocacy ambition. The Saint-Gobain Group, inspired by its purpose to “Make the World a Better Home”, has the strategic vision to be the worldwide leader in light and sustainable construction. This requires a stable and supportive policy environment, to which you will actively contribute as a Public Affairs Officer in our Brussels offices, right by the European Parliament.

šŸŽÆ The main role:

As a VIE, you will support our Public Advocacy team in Brussels by contributing to the deployment of our advocacy strategy at the European Union level and helping the activities of our internal Public Advocacy community.

This will notably include:

  • Monitoring and analyzing the EU policy developments in areas such as climate and energy, energy efficiency, circular economy, competitiveness, sustainable construction, etc.
  • Monitoring relevant EU institutional developments; creating or updating stakeholder mappings.
  • Undertaking ad-hoc research on specific topics of relevance to our Public Advocacy strategy and drafting internal policy briefings and newsletters.
  • Supporting the internal advocacy network activities; e.g., community meetings and advocacy support tools.
  • Supporting our external positioning; preparing meetings with decision-makers and associations.
  • Attending and reporting external meetings (e.g., Parliamentary Committees, networking events, conferences, and other events) & supporting the organization of events or meetings.

  • You will be based in Brussels, right by the European Parliament.
  • Working from home will be possible, to be arranged according to the working needs (maximum 2 days per week).
  • This is a 12-month mission, extendable once.

Is this job for you?

If you recognize yourself in the following description, donā€™t hesitate to apply!

  • You hold a Masterā€™s degree in Political Sciences, Economy, Law, or a degree from a Business School with a focus on Public Affairs.
  • You already have a good knowledge of the EU decision-making process and EU Institutions. Some knowledge of the EU Climate, Energy, and Building policies would be appreciated.
  • You already had a relevant experience in this field. For example, you participated in a think tank, an association, a consultancy, or an EU institutionā€™s activities.
  • You have strong analytical and writing skills, as well as the ability to synthesize information.
  • You demonstrate curiosity for new topics, have the ability to communicate in a clear and convincing way, and are recognized for your good interpersonal skills and integrity.
  • You are autonomous and can also easily collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • You are fluent in English (written & spoken). Strong foundations of French and any other EU languages would be highly appreciated.
