### Job Description
The Washington Post’s core mission is to hold power to account. The pursuit of that mission makes the Post an essential part of the public policy ecosystem which emanates from the nation’s capital. The Director of the newly established Public Policy and Pro Practice will be responsible for thought leadership related to public policy and how it affects business across our organization and external partners with varying levels of sophistication related to public affairs. This position will engineer the creation and growth of the Public Policy Practice and its financial contribution to the Post.

#### Responsibilities:
– Position our brand for its foremost expertise in public policy and its connection to business, creating value for our clients in that expertise.
– Educate internal partners on matters of public policy as it relates to client industry groups, product sets, and other capabilities, leveraging the full breadth of the Post’s sales and marketing resources.
– Create the connection between business and policymakers. Synthesize insights that inform successful audience engagement opportunities.
– Maintain domain authority and a pronounced presence in the marketplace based on thought leadership.
– Develop and implement a strategy that achieves long-term revenue growth.
– Anticipate client needs and generate demand.
– Directly manage a team of client partners, including acquisition, retention, and development of talent.
– Engage clients and translate the Post’s value proposition both widely and on an industry-specific basis.
– Call directly upon key accounts to build durable partnerships.
– Collaborate with internal partners to build product and audience development initiatives.
– Build out new business opportunities by understanding client needs and internal capabilities.
#### Requirements:
– Minimum 10+ years of experience in the public policy arena.
– Senior-level client relationships.
– Management / mentoring experience.
