### Purpose of Position

This position will help support the work of the Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) Farmer Outreach Team in developing and implementing key components of the annual plan. This work includes leading the day-to-day management of DMI’s farmer-focused digital strategy, including the farmer-facing website and social media channels, farmer communications vehicles and publications, and other farmer communications resources. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of seven years of experience with strong written/verbal communications and content/project management skills.

### Farmer Outreach

– Manage DMI’s farmer outreach day-to-day digital strategy – including farmer-facing website and social channels (e.g., Facebook, YouTube)
– Lead day-to-day owned digital engagement with agency partners and participate in regular DMI/agency virtual and in-person meetings; regular internal team meetings
– Support farmer-focused communications materials (e.g., annual report, brochures, periodic handouts, FAQ materials)
– Gather information and help package periodic measurement and evaluation reports
– Support planning and execution of the Making Every Drop Count farmer campaign; provide backup for other team members, when appropriate

### Position Requirements

– Ability to take internal information and build compelling storytelling to reach farmer audiences (specific emphasis on digital channels)
– Keen attention to detail and fluidity to adapt to evolving conditions, assignments, and deadlines
– Ability to coordinate and work with an integrated team, which has various personalities and skill sets, and cultivate relationships across plan disciplines (e.g., content and planning management, research, digital, measurement, and analytics)

### Other Responsibilities

– Engage and support DMI Farmer Relations team around major farmer meetings and events, specifically in the areas of communications planning (e.g., World Ag Expo, World Dairy Expo, checkoff annual meeting)
– Participate in department-wide annual meeting planning and execution; implementation of to-be-determined annual meeting-related tasks/assignments
– Support departmental operations processes and planning, where appropriate

### Requirements

#### Minimum Qualifications

**Education & Experience:**

– Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field
– Must have at least seven years of relevant experience in communications, marketing or related fields
– Agriculture, commodity checkoff or trade association experience preferred

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

– Must have strong content/project management, including working with applicable management platforms, and written/verbal communications skills
– Proficient in Microsoft programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
– Demonstrate ability to effectively multi-task, delegate, and manage assignments
