One Sentence Purpose:
The Mobilizations Manager is responsible for owning or managing key training projects/programs and key buckets of work including direct actions, the escalation core, and supporting our hubs to grow as action takers to achieve our strategy. This includes developing and growing our base across race, class, and geography and organizing to mass disruption in 2028 and GND wins. This manager is working closely with our distributed team, membership team, and schools team in making sure our programming is cohesive across sub-teams.
- Developing distributed resources and infrastructure, supporting decentralized action taking and centralized mobilizations including coaching, training, and overall organizing.
- Taking responsibility over our base having strong visual strategy and orientation to mythic power.
- Holding strong cross-team coordination of assigned projects or programs.
- Holding down rapid response and logistics for mobilizations and big events (trainings, summits, elections etc) as needed.
Responsibilities:
The role will require consistent travel for 4-5 days every couple of weeks.
Programs: (50%)
- Owns, oversees, and executes our escalation core.
- Set and track goals for programs/projects under management.
- Support visual strategy as a core component of our trainings and actions organizing.
- Tracking of project/program budgets.
Coordination: (25%)
- Work with the schools team and membership team to execute our national campaigning.
- Hold to strong project management and coordination rhythms.
- Set and track goals for programs/projects under management.
Management: (25%)
- Manages the Mobilizations Organizer(s).
Qualifications
Must Haves:
- 1+ years personnel management experience.
- 1+ years of experience building, leading, and managing strong teams across race and class (especially including low-income people of color).
- Has planned and executed multiple direct actions, including at least one action that was “national” in target and audience.
- Strong campaign and action planning instincts including visual strategy.
- Proven record of being an excelling project manager who can coordinate multiple projects and buckets of work at once.
- Strong training skills, including front of room facilitation, coaching others through training facilitation, writing and editing curriculum, creating slides/other content needed for trainings.
- Base building experience that includes efforts to recruit across race and class (in particular low-income people of color).
- Has played a substantial role in a local, state, or national campaign.
Nice To Haves:
- Experience with and ability to use multiple digital/distributed organizing tools and platforms (Every Action, Mobilize, AirTable, text and phone bank tools, etc).
- Experience with creating art to be used at direct action and campaigns.
- Experience building and leading volunteer teams that interface with national staff across rank and decision-making.
