Technology & Security Policy Manager

CCIA Europe seeks a Technology & Security Policy Manager to support the Association’s work on a range of EU files, including on digital accessibility and security. The Technology & Security Policy Manager will be based in Brussels and report to the Senior Vice President for Europe. They will help shape the Association’s position on EU Accessibility Act implementation and develop a comprehensive digital security strategy, ranging from devices to networks. The role entails engagement with policymakers, monitoring of relevant files, and advocacy at EU and national level.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively with CCIA’s team of experts to achieve policy goals on hardware and accessibility – including the successful and positive implementation of technology features on behalf of member companies – and digital security.
  • Develop and execute advocacy strategies addressing both device-level and broader digital service considerations, from hardware to online services and infrastructure.
  • Lead and participate in meetings with EU institutions and policymakers, representing the Association’s position on key policy files.
  • Help to create high-impact policy materials to educate, inform, and support CCIA’s policy positions; such as briefings, position papers, reports, and social media content.
  • Anticipate and address challenges that technology companies might face in national implementation of EU regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum four to five years professional experience in technology policy, advocacy, regulation, or EU law.
  • This is a position with a campaigning component, and also requires a desire to develop regulatory expertise.
  • Experience working on digital technologies, accessibility, or consumer technology products.
  • Strong written and spoken English; other European languages are an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of the EU legislative and regulatory process.

The ideal candidate will also possess:

  • Demonstrated creative mindset.
  • Ability to engage at EU Member State level.
  • Familiarity with hardware, internet technologies, and the surrounding policy environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical, legal, and regulatory issues.
  • Working knowledge of technical standards and standardisation processes is a bonus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, political, analytical, public speaking, and organisational skills.
  • Experience rolling out advocacy campaigns towards EU institutions and/or national governments.
  • Ability to thrive in multidisciplinary teams and to exercise strategic judgment in a rapidly changing policy environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into engaging narratives.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Salary:

Commensurate with experience.
